The season’s clean palette doesn’t forgo a flash of brilliance around the eyes.
“Using metallics and glitters in colors like deep blues, rich purples, silvery teals and rusted golds, I applied a stronger density of product on the outer eye fading toward the center of the eyelid for a washed effect,” says makeup artist Diane Kendal. The Briton breaks down the beauty look she created for Thakoon’s fall runway show with Nars’ newest colors (and a few all-time favorites): Apply UBANGI EYE PAINT with a flat brush, painting it on the lid and creating a wing shape to the eye. The paint provides a base for shadows. • Pat the blue color from MARIE-GALANTE DUO EYESHADOW on top of Ubangi in the outer corners. • For effect, apply OUTREMER MATTE EYESHADOW to deepen overall tone. • Add a mix of bronze and rose gold glitter on top. To apply the glitter, dip a synthetic paintbrush in water, then into your glitter color of choice. Press the brush lightly on the lid. • Note: Create the eye before your foundation, as there will be fallen glitter on the face to clean up, which you can do with scotch tape around the fingers. • Finish with curled lashes and a coat of black mascara, a light satiny peach blush (like Sex Appeal) on the apple of the cheeks and a natural lip. narscosmetics.com.
