The whole thing started by accident,” says Jessica Liebeskind, who began her distinguished career in beauty as a way to make money while chasing her acting dreams.
Having earned the nickname of “makeup lady” in college for the cosmetics line she launched during her studies, Liebeskind graduated and quickly forayed into global product development for Bobbi Brown after a chance encounter with the makeup maven at Bergdorf Goodman in 2000. The Calabasas native spent nearly six years learning every aspect of the biz, working on the brand’s award-winning palettes and alongside some of the world’s most celebrated artists. Now, New York–based Liebeskind is tapping into her own entrepreneurial spirit once again with the spring launch of Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind. Featuring 15 products for eyes, cheeks and lips, including a brush tool collection, the tightly edited and practical line works across skin tones. “Integrity is also something that’s extremely important to me,” says Liebeskind, who will debut the line on HSN in early 2015. “It needed to be highly authentic to my own aesthetic as well as reflect my philosophy on beauty, which is that women just want to look pretty.” jessicaliebeskind.com.
