Chanel’s signature Coco Mademoiselle perfume takes on a fresh look this spring with a new cinematic campaign.
“Coco Chanel is timeless,” says Knightley. “Her creations precisely express her free spirit.”
The latest short—which comes 23 years after Jean-Paul Goude’s “L’Espirit de Chanel,” starring Vanessa Paradis as a caged songbird—is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) and features London-born beauty Keira Knightley, the face of the label since 2007. Knightley, as Coco Chanel, and Danila Kozlovsky meet at a futuristic Chanel launch party and later cross paths on the Seine—all in a matter of 60 seconds. Like its predecessors, the commercial spotlights the seductive allure of the Oriental scent, which blends hints of orange, bergamot, floral and spice, as well as the irresistibility of the woman who wears it. “Coco Chanel is timeless,” says Knightley. “Her creations precisely express her free spirit.” chanel.com.
