For any child who has ever groaned at the prospect of visiting a museum, Maryellis Bunn has a seriously compelling counteroffer: The Museum of Ice Cream, Bunn’s passion project, arrives in DTLA this spring after a sold-out run in Manhattan—and this iteration is four times larger than the original. “I took away from New York this idea of how do I curate ice cream in the way someone would curate art?” explains the MOIC founder and Laguna Beach native. The temporary exhibit includes a swimmable sprinkle pool (comprising 100 million custom-designed faux sprinkles), gummy bear lights and, of course, lots of the cold sweet stuff from the likes of McConnell’s and Salt & Straw. 2018 E. 7th Pl., L.A.; museumoficecream.com.
