Merry and Bright

Setting the stage for a festive holiday season, three of L.A.’s most talented hostesses bring their closest friends together for an evening of feasting and crafting.

Actor, model and lifestyle author Molly Sims first connected with event planner Stefanie Cove through her then-fiance Scott Stuber: “He said to me, ‘This is a girl you have to meet!’” explains Sims of their introduction. Cove worked with Sims and Stuber on their 2011 Napa wedding, and the two have been throwing parties together ever since. With gifting maven Simone Le-Blanc, the trio hosted an intimate evening at Sims’ Pacific Palisades home to welcome the season.

Explains Cove (who helms Oren Cove Event Production with partner Yifat Oren), “Our main inspiration was the warmth of the holidays, but without overdoing what is commonly perceived as traditional decor. I love burgundy mixed with pale pinks and neutral tones.” Before dinner, Le-Blanc, Sims’ go-to gift source, guided the guests through wreath making. Everyone left with their mini works of art and everything necessary to later re-create the charming present toppers. “Each holiday season I rethink how to keep wreaths looking fresh without losing their timeless symbolic quality. Adding materials like gold leaf, dried florals and velvet trim elevates them and the gifts they decorate,” adds LeBlanc.

Cove decided to diverge from the expected yuletide-themed menu with dim sum and ramen. “Our friends are invited to so many dinners, I wanted something unique, but that would also tie into a cozy vibe,” she says. That it did—even despite the the balmy 75-degree temperature outside. mollysims.com; orencove.com; simoneleblanc.com
