Chanel hosts a no-holds-barred hoedown in Dallas, Texas.
Late last year, some 900 guests, including Lauren Hutton, Dakota Fanning, Alexa Chung, China Chow and the new face of the line, Kristen Stewart, arrived (via private jets) at Dallas’ Fair Park to preview Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Preceded by a drive-in screening of The Return, starring actress Geraldine Chaplin (also in attendance) as Coco Chanel, the event featured a dirt-paved runway rife with cowboy and Indian references and denim and fringe to boot. Designer Karl Lagerfeld described it as “not Dallas cheerleader” but “the West of the Mexican border in the time of the Civil War, a more romantic Texas fantasy.” And a BBQ, bull riding and line dancing kept the after-party kickin’. chanel.com.
