“I wanted to exhibit Simone’s work for years but felt like I needed a bigger gallery to give it room to breathe,” says Taylor De Cordoba co-owner Heather Taylor of her relocated digs and opening show by Simone Shubuck. While the N.Y. artist has shown at the likes of MoMA, she’s also a floral designer for restaurants (Mario Batali’s), movies (It’s Complicated), and hotels (The Standard). Gaining square footage and a backyard allows De Cordoba further expansion to host readings and fashion events (like their popular culinary-meets-literary “Eating Our Words” series). “My vision was not just art on the walls. Moving into our [Washington Boulevard] space really feels like we are entering a new, exciting chapter.” Apr. 27-Jun. 1; 6021 Washington Blvd., Culver City, 323-379-4832; taylordecordoba.com.
