Peace Industry pushes the comfort zone
“I chose all of the designers based on which direction I wanted to be pushed outside of my comfort zone,” says Peace Industry co‑founder and lead designer Melina Raissnia of her Fall 2017 collection. Raissnia and her husband, Dodd, reached out to multidisciplinary creatives, such as Disc Interiors, Hinterland Design, artist Raha Raissnia (Melina’s sister-in-law) and designer Alison Damonte, to apply their unique visions to the ancient—and endangered—tradition of Iranian felted wool rugs, a craft the San Francisco-based company has specialized in since 2002. peaceindustry.com.
