Los Angeles designer Rory Beca feels your bridesmaids’ pain:
“Every woman has a story of buying an overpriced, too-tight, strapless dress that they gave to Goodwill after years of it collecting dust in their closet,” she says. As an antidote to the one-and-done problem, Beca, who is known for her breezy array of exotically patterned maxi dresses, teamed with celebrity wedding planner Yifat Oren to launch Maid, a new collection that promises a return on investment. The line (which has already been modeled at the Oren-orchestrated nuptials of Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo) features a variety of romantically draped silhouettes in double silk georgette in a palette of blush, magenta, royal blue, silver and onyx. The effect is California-cool in a way that can be dressed up for the big day or down for date nights (you may even want to borrow one for your honeymoon). “The idea of wearing a bridesmaid dress and then packing it for your next vacation sounds ideal to me,” says Beca.
