Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra Celebration at South Coast Plaza
In partnership with Van Cleef & Arpels
Van Cleef & Arpels is spreading lots of good luck at South Coast Plaza. As part of the worldwide celebrations for the 50th anniversary of its iconic Alhambra collection, the French jewelry house is hosting a public exhibition through October 14 in the Costa Mesa shopping center, where visitors can immerse themselves in exquisite craftsmanship and the four-leaf clovers that have become Alhambra’s elegant emblem.
In South Coast Plaza’s Jewel Court, Van Cleef & Arpels has built a magical world bordered by tropical palms and green-tinted banners hung from the second and third floors above. In the center stands a quartet of circular rooms, each symbolizing a leaf of the lucky clover and telling a different part of the story behind the jewelry collection, which encompasses necklaces, bracelets and rings in rare stones and precious metals. In a dream-like journey, visitors walk through the company’s imaginative interpretations of a lush jungle, an ocean, a field of clovers and a storm cloud canopied with umbrellas.
Sprinkled throughout are displays of the Alhambra necklace strung with clover-shaped pendants. Since its debut in 1968, the design has blossomed into a symbol of relaxed refinement.
