Tori Praver braves the rugged Northern California coastline in the season’s iconic overcoats. Subtle structures, statement hues and natural, luxe materials mark the shape of things to come.

Venice-based model and swimwear designer Tori Praver has taken on her biggest project: seven- month-old daughter, Ryan Mahina Fuller. Praver, 26, is simultaneously preparing for swim’s largest tradeshow in Miami, planning her upcoming nuptials to longtime boyfriend, pro-surfer Danny Fuller and caring for their newborn. But, the laid-back Hawaiian beach girl isn’t stressed—instead, she radiates ease and balance.

With her tanned athletic legs, thick blond hair and impossibly bright smile, Praver has wholesome, yet sexy looks suggesting a modern-day Christie Brinkley. She was discovered at a Costco in Hawaii when she was 13; by 20, she was posing for Sports Illustrated and was the face of Guess. In 2009, she transitioned from model to swimwear designer; creating an eponymous line of flattering ruched silhouettes. For Resort, she’ll unveil a small capsule of ready-to-wear pieces—“beach coverups that you could wear to dinner,” she says of the maxi skirt, kimono and oversized men’s shirt that make up part of the collection.

This October, the couple will wed beneath a tree strewn with leis, on a bluff in the North Shore of Kauai. Though they currently call Venice Beach home, the family eventually plans to return to the island. “You move back after you accomplish what you want to do,” she explains of their timeline, “and we still have a lot going on.” toripraverswimwear.com.
