Since Jimmy Choo’s inception, more than 600 pairs of its A-list-loved shoes have walked the red carpet …
covering more than 46.4 miles of step-and-repeat. To celebrate this long journey, Creative Director Sandra Choi, who has been with the company since her uncle started the brand in 1996, developed Memento, a capsule collection spanning 20 of the house’s iconic shoe and bag styles.
Editing two decades of glamour was no easy feat: Choi wanted sparkle (hence the Swarovski-bejeweled Storm), a selection of strappy sandals (her personal favorite is the Tizzy) and simple, classic shapes with a twist (see Romy, a new modern pump), to name a few. And, of course, she had to include Lance, the brand’s most celebrity-requested shoe, worn by the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Charlize Theron. “It’s my answer to the 21st-century strappy disco sandal—a shoe that looks elegant and glamorous, but you can dance in it,” says Choi. For the ubercollector, the complete Memento range is available in a handmade galuchat-embossed leather trunk—the ultimate shoe box, if ever there was one. $675-$4,950; 240 N.
