On the way, you’ll encounter insane sand dunes that go on for miles. • Adelanto in the Mojave Desert is a city of dust devils. I highly recommend driving by if you are an adrenaline junky. • Joshua Tree is another California must. The locals are so kindhearted; you may never want to leave. • I rented a Sioux-style tepee amid granite boulders in Pioneertown through Airbnb. You feel like you’re on another planet. airbnb.com.
