Fashioned Together

Santa Barbara is the ideal setting for Annina Mislin and Patrick Hill’s serene courthouse ceremony.

To their friends and family, Annina Mislin and Patrick Hill have always possessed a quiet strength. The couple met in their native Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, nine years ago, and moved to L.A. together in 2008. Annina is C’s associate fashion editor and Patrick is the creative director of streetwear brand The Hundreds. Staying true to their cool, understated style, the Silverlake couple chose to eschew the frills of a large wedding in Canada for a more intimate affair in Santa Barbara last spring.

Their families (16 people in all) rented homes in Montecito and spent nearly a week in the area. “It was really important to us that they all spend time together,” says Annina. While Patrick and his compatriots surfed daily, others enjoyed cocktails at Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club and spa time at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore.

On a sun-drenched Friday afternoon, Annina, in a Céline slip dress, choker and pumps, with her Bulgari Serpenti engagement ring, joined Patrick in the gardens of the Santa Barbara Courthouse for the quiet ceremony.

After cocktails at The Biltmore and a stroll on the beach in Montecito, the party assembled around two long tables at Italian mainstay Pane e Vino, subtly decorated with white peony arrangements. “By simplifying everything, it felt like us,” says Annina. “And it all held such a special importance as both my grandparents and great-grandmother had homes in Montecito.”
