This season’s trend of fusing pretty much all inspirations into one eclectic, mashed-up look is certainly playful! With a definitive nod to Madonna’s influential ’80s style, this “anything goes” attitude synchronizes punk’s hard edges with a sassy cuteness, and makes allies of nighttime ladylike elegance and daytime boyish cool.
Don’t be shocked if you suddenly want to wear your chic Saint Laurent tartan blazer over the brand’s latex, frilled sheath dress; or loafers and woolly tights under Prada’s organdy sheer cocktail dress topped with a tweed men’s coat; or, if you feel like following Louis Vuitton’s sartorial advice, the brand’s must-have logo top with a tutu, track jacket and biker-style boots.
