The British designer—with a little help from her celebrity pals—held an unofficial pre-Grammy party to introduce her sporty spring drop with Adidas

A week before receiving a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) medal from King Charles III at Windsor Castle, designer Stella McCartney threw a rollicking celebration in Los Angeles to present her Spring 23 collection with Adidas, marking her ongoing 18-year partnership with the brand. Held at Henson Recording Studios days before the Grammy Awards, McCartney’s L.A. party drew equally on her fashion and music friendships for a gathering that included Cara Delevingne, Anya Taylor-Joy, C cover girls Paris Jackson, Dree Hemingway, Alessandra Ambrosio, Liv Tyler, and Shailene Woodley, plus Ivy Getty, Kate Hudson, Kim Gordon, Dave Grohl, Beck Hansen, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Matt Bellamy, Evan Ross, Julian Lennon, Ringo Starr, and Paul McCartney.
McCartney installed a roller rink inside the storied Hollywood studios where all four Beatles, including her father, have recorded solo albums. The L.A. Roller Girls—all clad in the capsule’s Adidas by Stella McCartney apparel and accessory staples reimagined in shades of black, gray, and white—skated in an immersive performance to Paul McCartney tunes of the past and tracks from present-day Grammy artists. The clothing collection included designs incorporating recycled materials and sport performance technology and also marked the debut of a futuristic new Adidas Sportswear shoe with a gender-neutral silhouette mixing natural and renewable materials.

Wheels lit up seemingly in time to the skaters’ choreography as Zuri Marley presided over the DJ booth and intrepid guests went for a spin around the room. Singer-songwriter Beth Ditto took the stage to belt out a blend of karaoke standards in addition to her own songs. Next up were performances from London-based singer Minke, Jamaican songwriter and rapper Koffee, and American indie band Muna. Outside on the patio adjoining the studios, musicians including Tinashe, Brandi Carlile, members of the band Måneskin, Orville Peck, and Demi Lovato continued to turn up as the party continued late into the night.
