An array of actors and creatives supporting GO Campaign, the nonprofit helping vulnerable children stateside and abroad, gathered in Hollywood at Citizen News for the organization’s 17th annual GO Gala on Saturday, October 21. The evening brought together the Santa Monica–based international charity’s longtime ambassador Robert Pattinson, accompanied by actress Suki Waterhouse and a host of organization advocates, including Lupita Nyong’o, Robin Wright, Anne Archer, Tony Curran, Greg Tarzan Davis, Sadie Stanley, Christopher Titus, Ciara Robinson, Daphne Zuniga, Davida Williams, Rachel Bradley, Reinaldo Marcus Green, Terri Nunn, and Torrance Coombs.

GO Campaign’s CEO Scott Fifer detailed the founded-in-2006 organization’s commitment to giving opportunity by fighting child poverty through small grants to local grassroots organizations around the world, from tutoring projects in Lincoln Heights to initiatives abroad including water tanks for students in Uganda and girls’ dorms in Rwanda. Current campaigns include a rehabilitation center for kids with special needs in Tanzania and schools for children in Afghanistan, all led by local leaders on the ground who know what their communities need and can foster simple changes that impact kids’ daily lives. Nyong’o, who brought along her mother for the evening, joined Pattison and a host of others bidding on tropical getaways and closer-to-home retreats, including a stay at Montecito’s Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel, all benefiting the organization that has funded more than 580 projects in 40 countries since its inception.

After dining on a menu created by Evan Funke of Venice’s Felix Trattoria, the audience took in a performance by the Freedom Singers, an ensemble of musicians made up of nonprofit workers, Skid Row volunteers and the formerly homeless who sang their versions of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Under the Bridge” and Phil Collins’ “Another Day in Paradise.”
