Hermès Tumbles into L.A. with Dip-Dye Pop-Up
Just in time for cooler temperatures, Hermès is putting a new spin on its signature silk scarves, bringing its “Hermèsmatic” pop-up concept to Los Angeles on November 10, its fourth and final stop in the U.S. after cycles in New York, D.C. and Nashville. Placing its trademark and highly coveted orange stamp on everything from the bright amber-hued floors to the tangerine-stamped detergent boxes, the luxury French fashion house will transform a space at Westfield Century City into a retro laundromat of sorts, brimming with washing machines ready to give Hermes scarves a colored rinse. Customers looking to dip dye their scarves can swing by and watch as they are thrown in the color-filtered “bath,” transformed within 48 hours into shades of fuchsia, denim blue or violet. Running through November 19, the concept will also have limited-edition scarves from Hermès’s dip-dye collection for sale in the label’s heritage prints.
