Now in its 14th year, StyleWeekOC returned to Fashion Island October 15–19 for a series of fashion shows, live performances, panel discussions, film premieres, and beauty and shopping events — all held in Newport Beach. For a second year, the style events were paired with the Newport Beach Film Festival, adding actors and filmmakers to the mix of events taking place at the open-air shopping center. Neiman Marcus kicked off the style events with a fashion showcase, benefiting CASA OC, filled with looks for the festive season ahead. An evening gala for the film festival, celebrating its 26th year, inspired a Red Carpet Ready event as well as beauty tutorials leading up to the Taste of Style gala and a screening of Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon set in the 1940s and centered around songwriter Lorenz Hart. Fashion film screenings were also on view throughout the week, including two documentaries, Akris-Fashion With a Heritage and Thom Browne: The Man Who Tailors Dreams.

Actor and producer Penn Badgley joined his cohosts Sophie Ansari and Nava Kavelin of Podcrushed on Saturday, October 18, to discuss their debut book Crushmore: Essays on Love, Loss and Coming of Age. They shared humorous and bittersweet bits about the new volume, filled with discussions of tweendom, emotional confessions, and the awkward moments that mark every path to adulthood. Emily in Paris actress Ashley Park led a second panel in partnership with WWD to discuss fashion and its role onscreen as well as off. On Sunday, Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp took the stage with a Film Festival panel and Neiman Marcus presented a fragrance masterclass with Creed attended by actors Gregg Sulkin and Tyler Blackburn before Macy’s hosted a fashion finale on its lawn.
