Loewe’s Endless Summer Starts in Ibiza
Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson has tapped the liberated energy of Armin Heinemann’s legendary boutique in Ibiza’s Old Town in a collaboration inspired by endless parties and skin-baring silhouettes. Paula’s—the cultish shop that opened in 1972 in the historic heart of the Spanish island and evolved into a mecca for musicians and creatives—inspired a mindset synonymous with laid-back endless summers. For his Paula’s Ibiza collection, Anderson embraces the flora and fauna prints central to the boutique’s aesthetic and incorporates woven, braided, and textured pieces including crocheted polo shirts, skirts, and dresses. Baskets and totes—made of woven raffia and Iraca palm handmade in Madagascar and Colombia—also benefit the communities that craft them, with Loewe’s per-bag donations to local educational projects. Additionally, six womenswear styles from the collection are exclusive to mytheresa.com, including dresses, tops, and basket bags. loewe.com. E.V.

Givenchy’s Plage Capsule is an Ode to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat
Light and color in the South of France, and particularly the pearly pink façades in the region where Hubert de Givenchy’s former seaside estate Le Clos Fiorentina is situated, inspired Matthew M. Williams’ beachwear capsule for Givenchy. The French house’s creative director sought to blend the laid-back glamour of the Riviera with his own raised-in-California roots for Givenchy Plage, a city-to-sand collection of women’s and men’s designs including such staples as light pink rubber Marshmallow wedge sandals, raffia (or denim or canvas) G-Tote shopping bags and travel pouches, sailor-striped cardigans and cropped T-shirts. Square 4G terry towels in neutral black and dusty grey join mesh basketball tops, 4G crystal necklaces and pink bio resin 4G Plumetis cuffs embellished with pink crystals. Williams’ swimwear pieces—a staple in the house founder’s collections since a 1952 show staged in New York—now include recycled materials and detailed supply chain traceability.

Pacific Chill by LOUIS VUITTON is L.A. in a bottle.

Louis Vuitton’s New Chill-Seeking Scent
The origin story of Louis Vuitton’s latest sensory ode to the West Coast, created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, is sure to strike a chord with locals who sip freshly squeezed refreshers. His recent visit with artist Alex Israel in Los Angeles included iced glasses of detoxifying juices that sparked his new fragrance, Pacific Chill, which has notes of blackcurrant, carrot seed, cedar, lemon, and aromatic herbs. Pacific Chill joins the house’s unisex Cologne Perfumes collection—each a unique nod to L.A.—including City of Stars, Afternoon Swim, On the Beach, and California Dream. Israel, whose airbrushed Flats depicting L.A. skies inspired packaging for the various scents, created an idealized image of seascapes inspired by gazing at the morning horizon in the Palisades for the accompanying fragrance trunk and cylindrical carrying case. louisvuitton.com. Marc Jacobs Gives Fendi a Fluorescent Spin
Kim Jones, artistic director of womenswear at Fendi calls Marc Jacobs a master of branding and experimentation. As such, Jones engaged the New York-based designer to create a no-holds-barred capsule for the Italian house. Jacobs responded with a riot of rhinestones, fluorescent yellow, recycled fur hats and stoles inspired by workmen’s hi-visibility vests and the glass windows of storefronts that make up Manhattan cityscapes. The exaggerated spring looks including parachute train skirts, cellophane opera capes, balloon-backed denim jackets and elongated gleaming Baguette bags—plus all the mini versions—are launching this month. “I am never one to shy away from an iconic bag,” says Jacobs. And why should he?
