Enjoy the expanded Four Seasons Punta Mita
Words by RORY EVANS
We can name exactly one thing nicer than a Four Seasons Resort: a freshly expanded Four Seasons Resort. That’s just what you’ll find in Punta Mita on 52 expansive acres right on the Pacific, 26 miles north of Puerto Vallarta in Riviera Nayarit. The accommodations, of course, come in a full range of dreamy flavors, whether you crave a suite with a plunge pool, an oceanfront casita, or one with lush garden views (the resort offers topographic diversity, with Punta Mita spanning from the beach to the jungle). Or you could really splash out with family members or a group of friends in the newly unveiled Casa Tesoro, a seven-bedroom, ten-bathroom oceanfront hideaway with its own infinity edge pool, jetted tub, game room (hola, Pac-Man!), movie theater, golf carts, and a dedicated staff and chef services.
Sure, the resort is kid-friendly, with the all-ages Nuna Pool, beach activities, and even a turtle hatchery experience to keep your shorty sidekicks busy. But the Four Seasons knows how to spoil grownups, too, starting with the adults-only Tamai Pool and the secluded sections of the Las Manzanillas and Las Cuevas beach (drink if you see a whale breaching!). Even the leveled-up Lazy River has an air of sophistication. As the riverway curves through greenery at a pleasant clip, be ready to pit-stop at the float-up/swim-up Drift Bar. Emphasis is on the word lazy in this river, given that at 4 p.m. you simply need to float past one of the amphibious waiters to be served an upscale Jell-O shot. You can also order a cocktail, like a spicy hibiscus mezcal blend served in a coconut (naturally) or a vibrant blue vodka-cucumber-lemon slushy concoction. Sink back into your colorful floatie and just go with the flow. 63734 Punta Mita, Nayarit, Mexico; fourseasons.com/puntamita.
