Animal print is back at the forefront for Pre-Fall 2020

Leopard print doesn’t always conjure positive associations, especially to those who remember a time when the animals were still poached for their skins (fortunately, that practice has been banned since 1973), not to mention the years of trashy, punked-up prints that followed. But if we’re referencing some of fashion’s most iconic moments, we see how this ubiquitous pattern can be both classy and sexy at the same time. Who can forget Anne Bancroft sizzling in her leopard coat and matching underwear as The Graduate’s Mrs. Robinson? Or supermodels such as Naomi Campbell and Yasmeen Ghauri strutting down Azzedine Alaia’s catwalk back in 1991, dressed head to toe in the designer’s revival of the motif? This trend is back and clearly here to stay. Try playing it down with matching sneakers for summer and mix in a little zebra or giraffe for good measure.
