The Italian linen brand brings its sustainable fabrics and tailored designs to Summerland for a month-long pop-up

Climate science points to a future in which fabrics must be sustainable and designs adaptable to hotter hemispheres, and Italian linen brand 120% Lino is doubling down on both concepts. The 35-year-old brand’s seasonal collections of men’s and women’s knitwear, dresses, suits, jackets, trousers and bags are made of breathable natural linen woven from natural flax fibers. Now the luxury line based in Milan is launching a month-long residency at Studio C in Summerland with a trunk show on June 18 and 19. Printed caftans, embroidered white blouses and shirtdresses join draped midi skirts and tiered halter dresses in bright yellows, blues and pinks. For men, checkered or striped shirts, Bermuda shorts, slim linen pants, T-shirts, polos and notch lapel blazers round out 120% Lino’s California edit. Running through July 18, both the men’s and women’s beach-ready summer collections also include a number of softly-faded linen options for off-duty days.
The Summerland pop-up arrives on the heels of a West Coast expansion that includes shops at both the South Coast Plaza and the Gardens on El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the global brand recently opened a new boutique in Beverly Hills. Each shop, and the Studio C residency, is also debuting a new line of bags and baubles created in collaboration with Michela Panero’s jewelry and handbag brand Rosantica — including fanciful printed linen and wicker Taco clutches — all crafted from natural materials. Elegant and sustainable made-in-Italy croissant bags, visors, bracelets and mini bags with hand embroidery and other embellishments round out the innovative partnership.
