The multiday celebration of interiors parties, panels, and happenings took place in the West Hollywood and La Cienega design districts

“Ascending into the clouds and taking flight with my talented friend Ben Soleimani for our moveable feast, traversing our neighboring showrooms for Design L.A.,” wrote Ken Fulk, captioning a post on the party he threw during the organization’s annual interior design celebration, Legends, on Wednesday, May 7. The multiday gathering, held May 5–8, brought out hundreds of guests for more than 80 showroom events, and dozens of panels and discussions led by designers, editors, and members of L.A.’s creative ecosystem. Fulk — the mind behind interiors for Carbone, Zac Posen’s San Francisco rental, Alexis and Trevor Traina’s Mexican coastal retreat, and scores more — is not one to shy away from a theme. He embraced this year’s Wanderlust narrative exploring the influence of travel, memory, and far-flung cultures on design at his new West Hollywood boutique, situated in a bungalow just off Melrose. Partnering with Soleimani, he dreamed up an ode to the elegance of air travel’s golden age. “Our flight attendants transported us from coast to coast with oysters, caviar bumps, and clever cocktails,” Fulk said. “No turbulence, just the best company and a sensational party.”
Now in its 15th year, the event included launches, such as a morning at Artem, La Cienega’s newest design showroom, plus pet portraits at Nathan Turner, and book signings including one with Frances Palmer at Nickey Kehoe, another with Kendall Wilkinson and Jennifer Gracie at Melrose’s Gracie, and a look at Michael S. Smith’s latest volume at Chief along with a discussion between Smith and journalist Matt Tyrnauer. In addition to the events, panels, and parties, Legends also included a tribute to filmmaker Nancy Meyers, known for comedies addressing modern relationships and her polished aesthetic, including the elegant neutrals her characters wear and the interiors of the houses in her films (from the Napa winery in The Parent Trap to the Hampton’s beach retreat in Something’s Gotta Give). She was honored as the 2025 Living Legend for her movies and her influence on interior design through cinematic portrayals and film sets cultishly documented in print and online. A Serena and Lily–sponsored panel, also held at Chief, brought together Meyers and her daughters Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Annie Meyers-Shyer to discuss furniture, accessories, and shared family bonding over decorating.
