Carolina Herrera Hits the Waves and Dior’s Haute Wellness Arrives

Plus Sporty & Rich materializes in L.A. and Fendi’s Baguette embraces its roots

L.A. Lands Sporty & Rich
When Emily Oberg founded SPORTY & RICH in 2014, it began as something closer to a manifesto than a brand. A decade later, the brand’s first L.A. flagship has opened its doors on Melrose Avenue, and at 5,200 square feet, it’s less of a boutique than a habitat for the athletic aesthetes. After browsing the brand’s full assortment of women’s, men’s, beauty, and footwear, customers can take in a bespoke Pilates session in a studio inspired by Oberg’s Beverly Hills home, followed by coconut soft serve or cold-pressed everything. 8619 Melrose Ave., L.A.; sportyandrich.com. For Its New SoCal Store, Carolina Herrera Looks to Its Latin Roots
American fashion house CAROLINA HERRERA has just arrived in La Jolla with a new boutique devoted to the collections and accessories designed by creative director Wes Gordon. The store’s pink venetian plaster and travertine furniture, reflecting the brand’s aesthetic codes, catch the sunlight, as do the bags and boldly hued runway collection, fresh from its debut in Spain. “The joyful designs, rich in color and texture, and that sense of warmth feels very much in tune with the spirit of California,” Gordon says. “There’s an ease to the way style lives here, but also a sense of individuality and optimism.” In addition to his Spring/Summer 2026 show in Madrid’s Plaza Mayor, the designer has also staged a recent presentation at the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City and his sculpturally shaped Consuelo Fan bags are a nod to Spanish and Latin American culture. Beyond the ready-to-wear, the boutique also includes a collaborative project between California surfboard artist Tim Bessell, known for his bright Warholian prints, and Gordon. The resulting fiberglass one-of-a-kind boards are a bold Herrera Red hue. 4489 La Jolla Village Dr., San Diego, 858-224-5200; carolinaherrera.com. E.V.

Orlebar Brown for the Westside Swim Set
ORLEBAR BROWN, the British swim brand that has been under the ownership of the iconic Parisian label Chanel since 2018, is opening its doors at Brentwood Country Mart. The space is its fourth California outpost alongside stores in Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, and Montecito, and the location feels like a natural fit. The open-air shopping enclave — equal parts farmers market charm and Hollywood glamour — shares the brand’s easy, effortless vibe, and will carry its latest collection, which leans into vivid color palettes, Italian-crafted linens, and resort-ready pieces built for somewhere warm, beautiful, and where life is like a postcard. In other words, California. 225 26th St., Santa Monica; orlebarbrown.com. M.B.

Dior Ventures Into Aesthetic Athletics
The fit set can look beyond bland workout gear or candy-colored weights now that DIOR has launched Haute Wellness, a collection of accessories designed in the house’s cannage motif. The blue-and-ivory hued bolsters, yoga mats, and Pilates rings incorporate a stitched version of the pattern in gold thread. Cordelia de Castellane, the Maison’s artistic director, created the line in collaboration with Christian Dior Parfums for spas and hotels, and embraces mindfulness and sleep in addition to sport. There are water bottles, a silk pillowcase, and even copies of The Five Minute Journal. 323 N. Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills, 310-859-4700; 3333 Bristol St., South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, 714-549-4700; dior.com. E.V.

Fendi’s It-Bag Reclaims its Origin Story
With Maria Grazia Chiuri’s return to FENDI, helming the Roman maison’s newest creative chapter, she is revisiting one of the most well-known objects to come from its ateliers. The signature Baguette bag, launched in the 1990s during Chiuri’s decade at the house — where she led its initial development — is returning to its original silhouette and launching this summer. The small and simple design, created to carry essentials under an arm, is back. And a cadre of bold names are wearing it in variations that suit their personalities. Sarah Jessica Parker, who boldly brought the bag to the small screen, is carrying it, as are Iris Law, Bang Chan, Emma d’Arcy and Jessica Alba — proving it’s never just a bag, it’s a Baguette. fendi.com.
