The intimate Oscars weekend party brought out a host of stars

Donatella Versace hosted a Los Angeles gathering of Versace Icons — individuals who have made groundbreaking contributions to their professions — at a private residence on Thursday, March 7. The Versace x Net-a-Porter event brought together Channing Tatum, Jon Batiste, January Jones, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Marisa Tomei, Álvaro Morte, Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse, Simu Liu, Teyana Taylor, Tiffany Haddish, Tyrod Taylor, Odell Beckham Jr., Precious Lee, Rumer and Tallulah Willis, Victoria Monét, Abigail Spencer, Aurora James, Kathy Hilton, Oppenheimer costume designer Ellen Mirojnick, and Net-a-Porter’s Alison Loehnis for the evening. The cocktail party resembled the Italian house’s similar Icon events pairing friends and creatives in New York and Shanghai, and this outing also gave Oscar-week guests in Bel Air the chance to take a first spin in many of Versace’s Spring 2024 runway looks and exclusive designs for the online fashion platform.
The ladylike pieces, first shown at the house’s Milan headquarters, were inspired by a 1995 collection by Donatella’s brother Gianni, and her recent buzzy presentation included Claudia Schiffer’s return to the runway, closing the show in a mint green checkerboard column dress. In Los Angeles, the new pastel palette, mixed with a slew of little black dresses, brightened up the evening gathering just days before the Academy Awards would be handed out. Singer-songwriter Coco Jones performed a three-song set as the city lights twinkled in the distance.
Days later the house announced that its Icons line for men will next be fronted by Cillian Murphy, winner of the Academy Award for lead actor in Oppenheimer, a development sure to inspire the next gathering in a new city.
