The L.A. restaurant will host a special meal with Master of Wine Jeannie Cho Lee
Words by ANUSH J. BENLIYAN
In her latest book, Korean-American, Hong Kong-based Master of Wine and author Jeannie Cho Lee explores the Côte d’Or’s 100 most memorable Burgundy wines, from up-and-comers to celebrated staples. To fete the forthcoming August release of The 100: Burgundy Exceptional Wines to Build a Dream Cellar (Assouline, $75), James Beard Award winners Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne of The Lucques Group are welcoming the renowned expert for a special dining event inspired by her book on Wednesday, July 31, at their flagship Los Angeles restaurant, Lucques.
The evening’s four-course dinner, prepared by chef Goin and executive chef Javier Espinoza, will marry Lucques sustainably driven, seasonal California cuisine with a selection of elite Burgundy wines handpicked by Lee, who will be on-hand to sign books and meet guests.
The harmonious menu will include such pairings as seared diver scallop with sweet corn, sage brown butter and bacon crumbs served with 2012 Domaine François Raveneau, Chablis, Montée de Tonnerre; and grilled local squab breast with duck sausage, haricots verts and Persian mulberries coupled with 2012 Bouchard Père et Fils, Beaune-Grèves, Vigne de L’Enfant Jesus.
$173/person. Tickets available through OpenTable. 8474 Melrose Ave., L.A., 323-655-6277.
