California is home to many beautiful botanical gardens across the state, but perhaps none so stunning as the historic landscape created by Ganna Walska at Lotusland in Montecito. Walska originally bought the estate in 1941 and spent the remaining years of her life importing a staggering array of exotic plants, from cacti to ferns and fruits. A fashionable beauty of the day, she was also a failed opera singer, was married six times, and was one of the inspirations behind the 1941 classic film Citizen Kane. Following in the elegant footsteps of this eccentric and legendary artiste, we paired Lotusland’s incredible fauna with the standout floral prints of the Spring 2020 season, for a match made in every decadent gardener’s heaven.
