Modern tailoring is the last word in O.G. first lady chic

First ladies of days past will forever be fashion inspirations, and perhaps none is as lauded for her legendary style as Jacqueline Kennedy. While she loved European couturiers, such as Christian Dior and Givenchy, it was the tailored wardrobe made for her by American designer Oleg Cassini that defined her distinctive look — one that the industry continues to emulate season after season. Spring versions of her classic suits popped up on many runways this year, from the modern, elongated interpretation at Balmain, to Maje’s youthful take on the iconic jacket with shorts. We can all be first ladies this month.
