Desert 5 Spot Brings Country Cool to The Snow Lodge
Guitars will twang from the mountaintops as America’s hippest country music bar, Desert 5 Spot, partners with The Snow Lodge at the St. Regis for a winter-long music series. Every Sunday from January through March, honky-tonk will meet haute après as the sleek Jade Room, with its plush velvet banquets, transforms into a boot scootin’ hotspot, blending the mythic, movie-set vibes of Pioneertown with Aspen’s chicest post-ski scene. Upcoming highlights at the ultimate country-lovers cocktail den include Jaime Wyatt on February 23, Joy Oladokun on March 9, and Drake Milligan on March 16. Casamigos will be in charge of the tequila-based drinks, and the event is open to the public, with VIP tables available by reservation. Check out the latest lineup: thesnowlodge.com/music-lineup.

Mytheresa x Bemelmans Bar: A Cocktail of Fashion and Sophistication
This winter, Mytheresa and New York’s storied Bemelmans Bar add a dash of the Upper East Side to the Rockies’ most rarefied resort from February 14 to March 2. The pop-up will offer the signature martinis synonymous with The Carlyle Hotel, where the bar has had its permanent home since 1947 and has seen many a jazz great perform within its four muraled walls. In this spirit, a live pianist will accompany the symphony of cocktail shaking behind the bar, and a selection of luxury fashion will be available should you desire to shop while you sip. Located downtown at 620 East Hyman Avenue and open daily from 3 to 9 p.m., the shimmering space, decked in gold paint, features an ice bar serving Champagne and fine jewelry (why not?), along with a “Press for Fashion” button delivering Mytheresa’s stylish selections to your table. Playful illustrations of the Aspen mountainscape by Xavier Donnelly, inspired by Madeline creator Ludwig Bemelmans’ original murals of Central Park, complete the design. Opening night on February 14 will feature Emmy-winning pianist Earl Rose, followed by a series of local musicians. With cocktails crafted by Manhattan’s finest and a high-fashion edit featuring the very best European and American brands, is there a more chic way to end a day on the slopes? The Snow Lodge Suite: A Masterpiece in Hospitality
At the St. Regis, The Snow Lodge continues to redefine the luxury experience with a museum-worthy interior of its new namesake suite. Italian-crafted furniture, Hermès textiles, Fornasetti pieces, and Baccarat crystal barware contribute to an overall atmosphere of understated opulence. The suite is the creation of architect and designer Antonio Di Oronzo of international firm Bluarch, with offices in New York, Miami, and Rome. Art takes center stage on the walls with works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Alex Katz, and Andy Warhol, sourced from the renowned Palm Beach and Aspen galleries including Aktion Art and Wynn Fine Art. The bathrooms double as an après-ski recovery zone, stocked with Orveda’s Overnight Reviving Mask, La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Mist, and Furtuna Skin’s Replenishing Balm — because regardless of whether you ski, in Aspen beauty and wellness are a full-time sport. Sant Ambroeus Serves Milanese Glamour to Downtown Aspen
Having opened a coffee bar last year as something of a teaser for what’s to come, Sant Ambroeus has finally opened its doors in Aspen, blending the cozy chalet charm with the refined sensibilities of Milan. Conceived by L.A.-based Giampiero Tagliaferri Studio, the intimate space — complete with a stone-floor dining room, a roaring central fireplace, plush banquettes, and plenty of greenery — fuses Italian elegance with alpine charm. Chef Iacopo Falai’s menu includes hearty classics like Ossobuco alla Milanese and Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, made with locally sourced Rocky Mountain ingredients. The intimate Il Baretto offers people-watching galore with its views of Main Street, and the courtyard will be a guaranteed hotspot at aperitivo hour. santambroeus.com.

Alex Israel’s Heaven: A Ski-In, Ski-Out Art Spectacle
At the invitation of Aspen Art Museum, Los Angeles artist Alex Israel has created Heaven, an exhibition ensconced in the mountains, blending hyperrealism and nostalgia, a mirage of memory and pop culture. Israel made a name for himself exploring celebrity culture, and this latest exhibition sees the former Ruthie’s restaurant transformed into a striking gallery space featuring more than 30 hyperreal portraits of celebrities who have passed since Instagram launched 15 years ago. The installation holds a mirror to social media’s role in memorializing lost icons, a celestial space housing a visual dialogue between past and present. A valid 2024–25 Aspen lift ticket is required for entry, which Israel also designed, featuring the phrase “Your ticket to Heaven” in script inspired by the novelty store, Heaven: The Supermarket of Pop Culture. The store was founded by Brad Benedict in Los Angeles in the late 1970s and was known for its graphic T-shirts, greeting cards, candy, toys, and tchotchkes. The iconic graphic, created by Benedict, could be found on merchandise worn by celebrities including Freddie Mercury, Divine, Sharon Stone, Brooke Shields, and Andy Warhol. Running February 15–23 and March 7–16, the exhibition is accessible only by ski-in, ski-out terrain at the base of Ruthie’s Run on Aspen Mountain. aspenartmuseum.org.
