Veronica Beard Hosts a Los Angeles Luncheon to Launch Handbags

The line’s sister-in-law founders gathered a bevy of friends to celebrate at Chateau Marmont

Glasses of Champagne and gin gimlets made the rounds as Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard introduced the first handbag collection for their joint line, Veronica Beard, on Tuesday, February 6, during a luncheon held at Chateau Marmont. The sisters-in-law, who founded the brand in 2010 with a rack of dickey jackets meant to simplify dressing, have added full ready-to-wear collections over the years, including suits, outerwear, denim, and shoes. Now there are seven new bag silhouettes for their on-the-go devotees. The designers gathered Los Angeles friends — including Poppy Delevingne, Kathy Hilton, Mandy Moore, Brianne Howey, Jasmine Tookes, Roselyn Sanchez, Elaine Welteroth, Morgan Stewart, Julianne Hough, and Rachel Zoe — to celebrate the launch.

Guests got a first look at the canvas-and-leather Goody bag, a versatile carryall ideal for everyday essentials that can be worn cross-body, over the shoulder, or as a top-handle purse. Inspired by the items the Veronicas tote around daily, a goody-bag bar included a variety of sunglasses, notebooks, pens, personalized phone cases, and makeup essentials to stash in the gifted bags. Other styles include leather buckets, totes, a classic shoulder bag, and even a raffia camera bag with a detachable strap that transforms into a perfectly-sized clutch. The luncheon’s location was also a nod to the brand’s first fashion show held during the previous decade, when they showed their designs as part of a Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund presentation. This time the founders completed each head-to-toe look with a brand new bag.
