A host of stars were on hand to toast the Italian designer-turned-philosopher at the lively dinner

Brunello Cucinelli, the designer known for impeccably crafted cashmeres, earthy-hued classic silhouettes, and his humanist vision, hosted Una Serata Italiana, an Italian evening, on Thursday, October 19, at Chateau Marmont. Over the years, Cucinelli — whose namesake line has steadily turned Solomeo, a hamlet on an Umbrian hill in central Italy, into a vibrant village complete with a library, school of arts and crafts, industrial park, agrarian park with vineyards and orchards, a restored 14th-century castle, and a revitalized piazza — has welcomed friends and fans visiting his Italian enclave. On this warm evening, Cucinelli came to see them. Guests including Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola, Kyle MacLachlan and Desiree Gruber, Jeremy Allen White, Henry Golding, Ava DuVernay, and Rashida Jones arrived to greet the designer and his wife, Federica Benda, daughter Carolina Cucinelli and her husband Alessio Piastrelli, plus North American President and CEO Massimo Caronna for Negronis followed by dinner in the courtyard.
Also on hand and also dressed in Cucinelli’s fine-gauge knits and smooth silks were Kathryn Hahn and Demi Moore, who kept her dog cozy in a cross-body pouch. Coleman Domingo, Mandy Moore, James Marsden, Jay Ellis, Quinta Brunson, January Jones, Ashley Park, and Paul Forman were joined by Gia Coppola and Honor Titus, Ava Phillippe, Madelaine Petsch, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Joseph Lee, Mandana Dayani, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Jasmine Tookes. Everyone assembled got a look at the Solomeo-produced designs and artisanal handiwork taught in its local workshops as Cucinelli gave a toast through a translator inviting his guests to embrace big ideas before dinner was served.
