A who’s who of the L.A. design world turned out on Friday, May 10, for nonprofit collective Sexy Beast’s “Design for a Cause” at Future Perfect’s gallery Casa Perfect, a sprawling property in Trousdale Estates that previously belonged to Elvis Presley.
Following a rainy afternoon, the clouds parted in time for a breathtaking sunset view of the city, as guests such as Kelly Wearstler, Brigette Romanek, Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish, Garance Dore, Future Perfect founder David Alhadeff and husband Jason Duzansky, and Oliver Furth and Sean Yashar perused a selection of coveted works from the likes of Lindsey Adelman, Harold Ancart, Makoto Kagoshima, Bari Ziperstein, Eric Roinestad and Mira Dancy, all on offer for the evening’s main event: a hotly anticipated raffle.
Partygoers admired the latest offerings at Casa Perfect (including Seungjin Yang’s series of balloon-inspired chairs), shopped a pop-up by lingerie brand Fleur du Mal in the poolside master bedroom, and sipped Chloe Wine as well as Yola mezcal. As the evening drew on, guests took in a live performance by soulful singer-songwriter Niia before the night’s lucky winners were announced by Sexy Beast founders Kristen Stegemoller, Sonny Ruscha Granade and Tera Uhlinger. By the event’s close, over $30,000 was raised to benefit Planned Parenthood L.A., which offers reproductive care and empowerment without discrimination.
