The celebrity stylist turned interior designer debuted her new title with an intimate soiree

On Thursday, Oct. 17, actor Ellen Pompeo hosted a special get-together at 1 Hotel West Hollywood in celebration of Estee Stanley’s new book, In Comfort and Style (Rizzoli New York, $45).
Set at the property’s rustic-chic Juniper lounge, the party welcomed Kate Hudson, Sara Gilbert, Johnny Knoxville, Ali Wise, Jamie Mizrahi and other friends of Stanley, who transitioned from a 15-year career as a Hollywood stylist to her new line of work, interior design, after her A-list clients — smitten with the elegant yet livable aesthetic of her homes — began asking for her unique touch on their abodes. Now, her list of interior design clients is just as star-studded as her former fashion patronage; she’s reimagined the homes of Patrick Dempsey, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, and the likes.
The book release event invited guests to sip craft cocktails, mingle and browse the new decor book, which features illustrations by artist Carly Kuhn (aka The Cartorialist) and Stanley’s tips and tricks for transforming your own home.
All proceeds from the book will benefit Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles nonprofit dedicated to providing for poverty-stricken children ages 0 to 12 with everyday essentials.
