Party On: Like-Minded Females Fete Figue’s Resort Collection

Sisters Coliena and Marlien Rentmeester host a luncheon to celebrate the label’s latest collection and the power of an entrepreneurial spirit

Coliena and Marlien Rentmeester — sisters and the driving forces behind fashion sensation Oui Want — invited friends to meet Stephanie von Watzdorf, founder and creative director of globally inspired label Figue, at an alfresco lunch by Poe & Co. on Thursday, Nov. 14, held at a private residence in Beverly Hills.

Tastemakers April Uchitel, Marissa Hermer, Alice Ryan and others had the chance to mingle while browsing Figue’s Resort 2020 collection and have their portraits taken by Coliena — known among friends by her nickname, Coco — while trying on the new looks. Themed Bohemian Rhapsody, the latest line includes standouts like eye-catching kimonos, tux shirts and pants featuring embroidered overlays made with vintage sari fabric or tastefully arranged sequins.

According to von Watzdorf, the day was a celebration of like-minded style. “I think the idea is that we are all individual female entrepreneurs wanting to help and support each other — different creative initiatives with a similar sense of style and spirit,” she said. “Coco and Marlien have been supporters of the Figue brand for six years and partnering up in L.A. was a natural way of bringing our strengths together.
