A curated weekend of style-driven events drew guests to Maison Miramar held in Montecito at Rosewood Miramar Beach, October 17 and 18. The inaugural event included previews of David Webb’s trove of jewelry, The Webster’s eclectic mix of collections and runway designs, and artisan-crafted accessories from Bottega Veneta, Zegna, Brunello Cucinelli, and Loro Piana. Goop’s new GWYN looks designed by Sofía Menassé in collaboration with Gwyneth Paltrow also debuted in-store, where the beauty lines she has pioneered were also a draw. The seaside escape gave guests a weekend away to refresh, reinvent, or bolster their personal style by drawing on the resort boutiques’ bespoke offerings, collection previews, private appointments, and shoppable looks. Between events, leisure time at 60 Miramar, the resort’s ocean-side cottage, included curated bites and flutes of Champagne.
On the second day of the immersive gathering, an editor’s panel — including C Magazine founder Jennifer Smith along with the publication’s editor and president, Jenny Murray; style and content director, Andrew Barker; and creative and design director, James Timmins — led a discussion centered around the debut of C’s 20th anniversary book, California Dream State (Rizzoli, $75). The conversation centered around a story on actor Kelly Lynch and screenwriter Mitch Glazer’s Richard Neutra house in Lone Pine that married so many of the book’s themes, from its mountain location to its starry owners and their love of fashion and design to the residence’s rock pool dynamited into shape by the original owners. Steps from the sea, inside the resort, the volume’s images of desert retreats, vineyard estates, and lush residences drew an audience of dreamers and style-seekers already captivated by the region.
